The Green Party has become a dynamic powerhouse of anti-corruption, pro-people democratic righteousness with working class grit and the moral fibre of the tree-of-life itself! An explosion in members joining and getting involved in the Green revolution foretells a new chapter of hope in the quagmire of lies and corruption that’s become British politics.
The idea that the Green Party is just a bunch of middle class vegetarian introverts in hand knitted jumpers has been resigned to the compost heap of history forever with the leadership of Zack Polanski.
So how is this such a massive shift? What’s new and what’s grabbing people’s attention policy-wise down at Zack Polanski’s Hope Factory?
Here’s some highlights from the Hope Factory:
Social and economic policies
- Taxes: Increase taxes on the richest, including implementing a wealth tax, to tackle inequality.
- Bills/cost of living: Regulate council tax/utility/food/rent and fuel costs through the wide ranging policies included here which all focus on this key issue.
- Welfare: Introduce a Universal Basic Income for everyone, this means no one starves and all this money is spent in local communities.
- Nationalisation: Renationalise rail, energy, and water companies because basically they are ripping us off and totally taking the piss now!
- Public services: Create a National Care Service, increase school funding, and expand free childcare. Because, well that’s the minimum we should expect from a civilised society.
- Regulation: Introduce stricter rules on lobbying and regulate large businesses and financiers more tightly. Because government should work for ordinary people, not multinational corporations.
- Drugs: Decriminalise cannabis and some drug offences. Because it’s a waste of resources to keep policing weed.
Environmental and climate policies
- Renewable energy: Make heavy investments in renewable energy. Because we don’t want to drown, fry, or freeze to death.
- Fossil fuels: Support the phasing out of fossil fuels and petrol and diesel cars. See above.
- Contaminated land: Act on industry waste, pollution and related public safety.
- Food: Advocate for more plant-based options in public institutions like schools and hospitals because meat farming is devastating to the environment.
International and other policies
- Europe: Foster a closer relationship with Europe.
- Palestine: Fulfil our obligations as a UN member state with regard to the occupation and genocide in Palestine.
- Housing: Address issues of high rents through policies that aim to make life more affordable.
That’s it in a nutshell. If I was to add anything to this list it would be to make it illegal for politicians to take any payments, favours or presents from anyone. This would drive out undue influence from the rich and powerful lobby and ensure we represent only the interests of ordinary people.
I would also proscribe all pro-Israel groups, organisations, clubs, gatherings and advocates as terrorists. All of them. It should be considered a terrorist offence to support a genocide or a genocidal project such as “Israel”.
Finally I would commit to campaigning to remove the Veto powers from the permanent members of the United Nations. We live in a multipolar world now, every member state should have equal powers especially when it comes to stopping a genocide, which has been vetoed every time by the yanks.
If you want find out more or influence Green Party policy at the next conference, consider joining the Green Party for a couple of quid a month and do something good today!
